Jake McDaniel

In the summer of 2012, between semesters of high school, I was struck by the urge to suddenly create.

In a frenzied bit of writing passion, I pumped out a fantasy trilogy over the course of three months. Since then, I have been extremely passionate about writing, having written numerous short stories and books for myself. My passion has moved me onto different venues with time, as I am now pursuing work in freelance blogging and screenwriting, turning my creativity into new works each day.

My writing work has taken me to Africa, where I worked for a company called SafariLIVE.

There, in the wilds of both the Maasai Mara, Kenya and Kruger National Park, South Africa, I wrote blogs about wildlife, safariLIVE, and my own personal experiences. It was a grand experience, where I learned to adjust to the frenetic schedule of a TV show, as well as dealing with neighbors such as scorpions, hyenas, snakes, and baboons. My work there has truly influenced my livelihood since and inspired me to continue to blog back home, even if it’s in a less interesting space!

I’ve a great interest in comic books, fantasy literature, and the film industry. My nerdy interests are something I’m quite proud of and I consider the current pop culture landscape something of a golden age, as superheroes, dragons, and more are at the height of popularity. I’ve even taken up roleplaying and recently ran an African-inspired D&D campaign. I also love cats and currently own a sweet cat named Cali, who has full run of the house.
